St. Peter's Health is a nonprofit health care system located in Helena, Montana. Our services include but are not limited to a 99-bed acute care hospital, physician clinics, cancer treatment center, 24-bed behavioral health unit, urgent care clinics, home health and hospice care, dialysis center and ambulance services. We provide services to an estimated 97,000 residents from a five-county area (Lewis and Clark, Broadwater, Powell, Meagher and Jefferson counties). We are overseen by a volunteer board of directors that includes leaders and health experts who are committed to ensuring we provide exceptional health care to our community.

St. Peter’s Health Cancer Care offer patients advanced cancer fighting options, such as immunotherapy, chemotherapy and radiation therapy using the TrueBeam linear accelerator. We provide patient navigators who support you and your family through your entire experience, helping you focus on your emotional and mental needs during treatment. Our affiliation with Huntsman Cancer Institute at University of Utah brings world-class cancer care to Helena by improving access to top specialists and innovative care.

The Emergency Department is located on the main level of the Regional Medical Center on the corner of Broadway and California Avenues. The department is a 15-bed emergency treatment facility, staffed with licensed physicians and registered nurses. It is an Area Trauma Hospital, a designation that demonstrates St. Peter’s Health’s ability to provide care for and effective transportation of trauma patients.

Our outpatient clinic in Helena provides evidence-based treatment for addiction to opioids like fentanyl, heroin, and oxycodone, and stimulants like methamphetamine and cocaine. We also provide medication-assisted treatment for alcohol withdrawal and relapse prevention. Ideal Option providers in Helena may prescribe a variety of medications, including Suboxone®, Subutex®, Sublocade® or Brixadi® (buprenorphine), Vivitrol® (naltrexone), disulfiram, acamprosate, gabapentin, bupropion, and many others. We can also help methadone patients transition safely to buprenorphine, but we do not dispense or prescribe methadone.
