Calvin Schlepp, MD is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and other musculoskeletal conditions. He completed subspecialty training in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the Taos Orthopaedic Institute. Dr. Schlepp has specialized training in sports medicine and arthroscopic treatment of shoulder and knee injuries, as well as a particular interest in anterior total hip replacement and partial knee replacement surgery. James Verlanic, MD earned his medical degree at the University Of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, Nev., and his Bachelors of Science in Cell Biology & Neuroscience and Ecology & Evolution at Montana State University in Bozeman. Lauren Shea, MD earned her Doctorate of Medicine at the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Ga. and her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. She completed both her Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta and is board-certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In addition to general Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Dr. Shea has special interests in Women’s GI health and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and she joins St. Peter’s with five years of private practice experience.

A Helena native, Matthew E. Goldes, MD earned his medical degree from University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Wash., after earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Montana in Missoula. He completed his residency in general surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Fla. He is board certified with the American Board of Surgery, and is a member of the American Medical Association and American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Abentroth attended Carroll College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Zoology. She has participated in medical missions in Haiti, Guatemala, Kenya and Northern Ireland. Dr. Abentroth is Board Certified in General Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She belongs to the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She has practiced in Helena since 2011.
