The Original Montana Club, founded in 1885, is a cornerstone of Helena’s history and one of the longest-operating private social clubs in the American West. Under new ownership as of 2025, the building has undergone extensive renovations while preserving its original charm and historic character. Today, it’s home to The Rathskeller—our public bar and live music venue—and the private, members-only Original Montana Club, with more to come. We are currently accepting event rental inquiries for the beautifully restored second floor. Follow us on social media for upcoming live music, performances, and special events at The Rathskeller.

Open to the public for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, 1885 offers sweeping views of Helena from a historic Cass Gilbert-designed setting. Join us for a business lunch, a burger with a view, or an elegant dinner featuring exceptional Certified Angus beef, steaks, signature burgers, fresh salads, sandwiches, and thoughtfully prepared seasonal dishes. Historic surroundings, warm hospitality, and one of Helena’s most distinctive dining rooms — a table above the city, since 1885. Reservations recommended.

When you come to Lucca’s you are not eating out – you are dining out. Our unique fine dining experience is designed to tantalize all the senses. You see a relaxed atmosphere of Montana elegance – sophistication without the pomp and circumstance. Come experience Lucca’s, awarded The Best Restaurant in Helena for 2015, 2016 and 2017 by Business Insider magazine. Lucca’s is open at 5 p. m. for dinner Wednesday through Sunday (yes we are open on Sunday). Our intimate 54-seat setting fills up quickly, and reservations are highly recommended – best to call a week ahead. If needed, please leave a voicemail, and we will call you back promptly.
